Limited Time Soap: Oatmeal, Milk & Honey

If you like the sweet aroma of vanilla and honey, you will love this scent! It smells good enough to eat, but please don’t eat it, trust me it won’t taste very good.

Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Soap view from above. Light cream color with glycerin swirls.

For this scent I used bentonite clay, which provides that lovely slip in the shaving soap. I realized I hadn’t used any yet in my cold process soaps, so I decided to experiment. At the time I was also reading about creating intentional glycerin rivers. Glycerin is a natural byproduct of cold process soap production that also hydrates your skin. While all soap has glycerin, usually you try and avoid the visible creation of glycerin rivers as they can disrupt designs in the soap. But because this soap and the clay were so similar in color, lacking the contrast found in my other soaps, I thought I would try and create the glycerin rivers on purpose to add visual interest. I think it adds adds a nice natural design to this wonderfully smelling soap.
